Account for individual entrepreneurs (FOP) in 2026: comparison of tariffs of monobank, PrivatBank, PUMB and others

If briefly, the cheapest account for individual entrepreneurs (FOP) in 2026 is offered by monobank and A-Bank, where maintenance costs 0 UAH with no extra conditions. PrivatBank does not charge a subscription fee for active entrepreneurs who pay with a business card at least 15,000 UAH per month, and PUMB offers a package with no monthly fee until the end of 2027 for those who open an account by 31.12.2026.

Your choice of bank depends not only on the subscription fee but also on how much you pay counterparties, how often you withdraw income to a personal card and whether you accept card payments. Below we compare the tariffs of seven banks as of October 2026 according to their official websites and explain how to open an account online.

How we compared accounts for FOP

Criteria: maintenance, payments, withdrawals

For each bank we looked at the monthly package fee, the cost of a payment to an account in another bank and the commission for transferring income to a personal individual card. We separately considered foreign-currency accounts, acquiring rates and cash withdrawal conditions.

We compared only the basic packages that banks offer FOP for online opening. Premium and sector-specific tariffs, for example for IT, have different conditions and should be checked separately.

Typical usage profiles

We identified three typical scenarios: a freelancer paid in foreign currency, a shop or café with acquiring and an FOP that pays suppliers and employees. Different tariff lines are decisive for each of them, so there is no universally “best” bank.

Date of tariff update

All figures in the article were verified on the banks’ official pages as of October 2026. Banks frequently change tariffs and run promotions, so check the current wording on the bank’s site before opening an account.

Where the bank does not publish a specific figure on a public page, we write “check with the bank”. This means you should verify the condition in the full tariffs or with bank support.

Payments to accounts and to the budget

The cheapest payments to counterparties are at monobank, PUMB on the “vseDIGITAL FOP 2.0” package and Sense Bank via the app, where payments to other banks are not charged. At Raiffeisen Bank and A-Bank a payment costs 3 UAH, at Oschadbank 4 UAH, and at PrivatBank on the “Business Standard” tariff 5 UAH.

Large amounts from 100,000 UAH cost more at most banks: 12 UAH at Raiffeisen Bank and Oschadbank and 15 UAH at PrivatBank. Taxes and the single social contribution (SSC) of FOP are usually paid from the account via ready templates, but banks do not always show a separate line for budget payments, so check this condition in the full tariffs.

Transfer to your own card

The largest free limits for withdrawing income are offered by Sense Bank (up to 300,000 UAH per month) and PUMB on the digital package (up to 200,000 UAH). At monobank you can transfer funds to your personal individual account and withdraw cash free up to 50,000 UAH per month, while Raiffeisen Bank and A-Bank do not charge a fee for transfers to your own card within the bank.

At PrivatBank non-purpose top-ups of cards cost 0.5%, so active entrepreneurs are better off paying directly with a business card. You can use it for personal purchases if taxes are paid on time.

Foreign-currency accounts and receiving payments from abroad

Opening a foreign-currency account

Dollar and euro accounts are opened free of charge by monobank, PrivatBank and A-Bank. At monobank a foreign-currency account can be opened for each FOP account directly in the app, and at PrivatBank foreign-currency accounts are included among free services alongside additional hryvnia accounts.

To receive currency from a foreign client you will need a contract or invoice because the bank conducts currency oversight of transactions. Without supporting documents crediting may be delayed until the payment purpose is clarified.

SWIFT fees

PrivatBank publishes the cost of outgoing SWIFT transfers: 25 USD/EUR on the “Business Standard” tariff and 20 USD/EUR on “Business Comfort”. At PUMB payments outside the bank in dollars and euros cost 0.15% of the amount, minimum 25 and maximum 200 units of currency on basic packages.

The cost of incoming SWIFT crediting is not specified on the public pages of most banks. If you regularly receive payments from abroad, check this item in the full tariffs or with support.

Currency sale and rate

The commission for selling currency is 0.15% at Sense Bank, 0.2% at PrivatBank on “Business Standard” and 0.1% on “Business Comfort”, and 0.4% at PUMB on the digital package. A-Bank states that it exchanges currency at the established rate without separate commissions.

Compare not only the percentage commission but also the bank’s exchange rate at the moment of sale. A difference in the rate on large sums often matters more than a 0.1–0.2% commission.

Acquiring, PRRO (software fiscal register) and integrations in banks

Proprietary POS and Tap to Phone

The lowest published acquiring rate belongs to PUMB: 1.1% per transaction for merchant and internet acquiring, with no subscription fee until 15.07.2027. At monobank the commission for a POS terminal and Tap to Phone is 1.3%, with POS rental costing 500 UAH per month, while the terminal in a smartphone has no rental fee.

PrivatBank charges 1.3% for all cards for POS terminals, the “Terminal” app and QR payments, and adds a 400 UAH/month subscription for POS. For internet acquiring PrivatBank charges 1.5%.

Built-in PRRO

Acquiring does not remove the obligation to issue a fiscal receipt for FOP of groups 2 and 3 if the buyer pays by card. So, in addition to the bank’s rate, consider which software cash register you will use: the free “PRRO of the State Tax Service (DPS)” app or a paid integrated solution.

Cashless payments for groups 2 and 3 are already mandatory depending on the size of the locality, and the 2026 stage for group 1 was postponed to 3 months after martial law ends. Therefore a merchant should choose a bank where acquiring can be connected online and without lengthy paperwork.

API and integrations with accounting

At monobank you can give an accountant access to the account by phone number, adding up to 10 numbers. PrivatBank offers the “Privat24 for Business” ecosystem with free reporting and accounting services, and Sense Bank allows you to grant account management access to an authorised person.

Limits and financial monitoring at different banks

Withdrawal limits

Free limits for withdrawing income differ by several times: from 50,000 UAH at monobank to 300,000 UAH at Sense Bank. Beyond the limit percentage commissions apply, for example 0.35% at PUMB and 1.5% at Sense Bank.

Cash has its own rules: A-Bank charges no commission up to 30,000 UAH per month, Raiffeisen Bank up to 20,000 UAH via ATM. PrivatBank charges 1% for cash withdrawal from a business card, Oschadbank 1% but not less than 5 UAH.

Requests for documents

Banks are obliged to conduct financial monitoring under Law No. 361-IX, so they may request contracts, acceptance certificates or invoices for large or atypical inflows. Questions most often arise when volumes rise sharply or when the payment purpose does not match the FOP’s activities.

It is better to respond to a request quickly and with a full package of documents. A delay in explanations may lead to restrictions on outgoing operations until the check is complete.

Risk of blocking

The most common reason for restrictions is using an FOP account for personal transfers or receiving payments from individuals without explanations. The risk is reduced by correctly specifying the payment purpose and matching KVED (classification of economic activities) to actual activity.

Having accounts in two banks also reduces the risk of business interruption. If one bank blocks operations pending verification, a second account will allow you to receive payments and pay taxes.

Which bank to choose for your profile

Freelancer with foreign currency

A freelancer needs free foreign-currency accounts, a low commission on currency sale and a clear procedure for SWIFT crediting. Based on the table, short conclusions for three profiles are:

  • Freelancer with foreign currency: monobank or A-Bank for free USD and EUR accounts, Sense Bank for a low currency sale commission of 0.15%.
  • Shop with acquiring: PUMB with a rate of 1.1% and no subscription fee until 15.07.2027 or monobank with Tap to Phone at 1.3% and no rental fee.
  • FOP with employees and frequent payments: monobank, PUMB on the “vseDIGITAL FOP 2.0” package or Sense Bank, where payments to counterparties are not charged.

If foreign-currency receipts are large, compare the sale exchange rate at several banks on the same date. A difference in rate on sums of several thousand dollars is more significant than a difference in subscription fees.

Shop with acquiring

For retail, choose an account based on the acquiring commission and terminal rental. For example, on a turnover of 200,000 UAH per month a 1.1% rate gives 2,200 UAH commission, while 1.3% is already 2,600 UAH not counting rental.

Also check when sales proceeds are credited to the account and whether you can accept cards issued by foreign banks. According to monobank’s information, the rate for payments from abroad does not change and is 1.3%.

FOP with employees

An employer-FOP needs inexpensive payments, payroll transfers and convenient payment of the single social contribution (SSC) for employees. A-Bank states that salary payments to employees are free, while payments to other banks cost 3 UAH.

If there are dozens of payments per month, the difference between 0 and 5 UAH per transfer becomes significant. Therefore packages with unlimited payments are more advantageous for this profile.

How to open and change an FOP account

Open online in 10 minutes

Most banks open an FOP account remotely through an app and pull documents from Diia. To open an account you need a passport or ID card, the Taxpayer Registration Number (RNOKPP) and an entry about the FOP in the Unified State Register (EDR); new clients of Sense Bank must first issue a personal card. The general sequence is:

  1. Register the FOP through Diia or at a Centre for Administrative Services (CNAP) and wait for the entry in the EDR.
  2. Install the chosen bank’s app or open the application page on the website.
  3. Confirm your phone number and share documents via the Diia app.
  4. Fill in a questionnaire about types of activity and expected volumes.
  5. Sign documents with Diia.Signature or the bank’s electronic signature.
  6. Wait for notification that the account has been registered with the tax authority and receive IBAN details.

At Raiffeisen Bank you can submit an application around the clock, and accounts are opened from 5:00 to 23:00 on weekdays. Outgoing operations are available after the tax authority registers the account.

No need to notify the State Tax Service (DPS)

An FOP does not submit a separate notification about opening an account to the tax authority. According to Article 69 of the Tax Code the bank itself notifies the controlling authority, and you can spend funds from the account after confirmation of its registration.

Moving payments when changing banks

Before closing the old account, inform clients, marketplaces and payment services of the new details. Migrate tax payment templates and regular transfers, and reconnect acquiring and PRRO to the new account.

Frequently asked questions

Which bank is best for FOP in 2026?

There is no universal leader, because the choice depends on the activity profile. By subscription fee the most favourable are monobank and A-Bank, for acquiring PUMB with a 1.1% rate, and for withdrawal limit Sense Bank with 300,000 UAH per month.

Can you have FOP accounts in several banks?

Yes, the law does not limit the number of FOP accounts in different banks. Each bank notifies the tax authority about a new account itself, so the entrepreneur does not need to submit anything additionally.

Do they charge a fee for paying taxes from an FOP account?

Most banks offer ready templates for paying the unified tax and the SSC. However, banks do not always publish a separate line for the cost of budget payments, so check this condition in the full tariffs before choosing a package.

Do you need to notify the tax authority about a new account?

No, the account opening notification is sent to the State Tax Service (DPS) by the bank. The entrepreneur only needs to wait until the account is registered, after which outgoing operations can be carried out.
