The Cyber Police of Ukraine (Cyberpolice) warned of a scheme in which, while searching for a carrier, perpetrators post listings for passenger and cargo transport, take an advance payment and then disappear or demand additional money.
Perpetrators place listings on social networks, messaging apps and on specialised online platforms. To build trust, they may use photos of real vehicles, logos of well-known companies, other people’s reviews and pages that resemble official ones.

The notice advises paying attention to signs of potential fraud and verifying information about the carrier and reviews. The recommendation is not to transfer funds based solely on correspondence and not to follow suspicious links for booking or payment.
The notice also states: do not disclose bank card details, the CVV code (Card Verification Value), one‑time passwords and codes from SMS (Short Message Service) to third parties. If you are being rushed to make a decision, it is advised to pause and recheck the information.

If you have fallen victim to fraud, you can report it via a special form on the Cyber Police website.
