Many Ukrainians are considering moving from the city to a village because of concerns about heating, power supply and water supply ahead of the 2026 winter. Besides the wish to live closer to nature, the decision is driven by fears of disruptions to urban infrastructure.
House prices in villages
There is no single price for a “house in a village”: costs vary widely between settlements — from a few tens of thousands of UAH to millions. According to current listings on OLX in September 2026, for example, there is a house in Yatranivka in the Cherkasy region with an area of 33 sq. m for 85,000 UAH and a house in the village of Nahirna in the Cherkasy region with an area of 50 sq. m for 90,000 UAH.

There are also pricier options: in the village of Yakhny in the Kyiv region a house of 100.5 sq. m has been listed for 900,000 UAH, and in Moshny in the Cherkasy region a 70 sq. m house — for approximately 1.12 million UAH. In some regions a house with land can be found for 100,000–300,000 UAH, while in villages both houses and flats are often available to rent.

Where to find the cheapest housing
The cheapest offers are usually in small villages far from large cities, where demand for property is lower and houses are often sold together with large plots. It is in such settlements that you can find offers in the range of 70,000–200,000 UAH.
If you do not have enough money for rent, the source notes that it is quite possible to receive a few thousand UAH to a bank card in 10–20 minutes. To do this, it is enough to use the Finance.ua service.
