Diesel and autogas in Ukraine will continue to get more expensive until the end of October, according to the director of Consulting Group A95, Serhiy Kuyun.
Wholesale prices for diesel have already exceeded 100 UAH per litre, and the price of autogas may hold at around 50 UAH per litre. There are currently no grounds for petrol to become more expensive, the expert notes.

Reasons for the rise in autogas prices
The main reason for the rise in autogas prices is a sharp increase in global prices. New batches of fuel purchased at higher cost are already arriving in Ukraine and affecting domestic prices.
According to the expert, this trend was predicted several weeks ago, and volumes bought at higher prices are gradually entering the market.

Factors behind diesel price increases
The situation with diesel fuel remains difficult: agreements on supplies of Russian and American diesel have not produced results. Supplies remain strained, and there is a shortage of the resource.
Because there are no excess volumes, the wholesale cost remains high, which supports the rise in retail diesel prices.
Forecast for further increases
“I think prices will rise a little more. Wholesale costs remain high because there are no surplus volumes of fuel on the market and there is a perceptible shortage of the resource. Prices will gradually level out,” said Serhiy Kuyun.
The expert expects the upward trend to continue for a short period, after which the market will gradually stabilise due to corrections in supply and pricing.
The state of the petrol and autogas market
There are currently no grounds for petrol price increases: supplies are secured and margins in the segment remain at an appropriate level. Therefore the expert forecasts price stability for petrol until the end of October and into November.
Autogas may also continue to get more expensive, with its price possibly rising to around 49−50 UAH per litre.
