За січень 2026 портфель ОВДП банків скоротився на 9 млрд грн до 922,67 млрд грн. ПриватБанк скоротив позиції на 23,07 млрд грн, а населення додає близько 4 млрд грн щомісяця.
Ukrainians have 153 million cards and only a third of them are active
Ukrainian banks issued about 153,2 million cards but only about 61,1 million were active. The difference is explained by state programmes and by people having several cards.
Ukrainians' deposits grew to 504,2 billion UAH — who benefited most
Over the eight months of 2026, household term deposits rose by 37,3 billion UAH to 504,2 billion UAH. Almost all the increase was in UAH, and most went to PrivatBank, Oschadbank and monobank.
AliExpress VAT and industrial decline: impact on the hryvnia
The package of projects offers 20% VAT for orders up to €150, applied from the first euro and included in the price. At the same time industry fell by 1% for January–August 2026, and in August the decline accelerated to 7,4%.
Bank loan portfolio 2026: PrivatBank and monobank lead in growth
Ukrainian banks increased their loan portfolio to 1,31 trillion UAH as of August 2026. The business portfolio amounted to 933,2 billion UAH, retail 374,7 billion UAH, and the largest increases were from PrivatBank and Universal Bank.
Banks' profits in 2026 — who topped the ranking for 8 months
Banks' profits in January–August 2026 mostly declined. PrivatBank has 31,73 billion UAH profit, Oschadbank reduced the figure by 68%. Universal Bank and FUIB showed growth.
