According to Samsung, in September the company began the global rollout of the stable version of One UI 9 based on Android 17, and the update has now reached the budget models Galaxy A07, Galaxy M17 and Galaxy M36.
Which models have received the update and the package size
Numerous owners of the Galaxy A07, Galaxy M17 and Galaxy M36 around the world report that the stable version of One UI 9 is available on their devices. This came just a few days after the firmware was first made available to users in South Korea.

The download is almost 2.3 GB; the update also contains the September 2026 security patch. Previously, the stable version of One UI 9.0 appeared on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 models.
How to check for the update
If you are in Europe and have not yet received a notification about the update, you can manually check for it by going to ‘Settings → Software update → Download and install’.

If the update is already available in your region, the system will prompt you to download and install it.
New proprietary skin and plans for 2026
The proprietary One UI 9 skin is based on Android 17 and includes a range of visual changes, new personalisation options and security improvements. Key additions include more flexible Quick Settings configuration, the ability to rearrange control elements, adjust the sizes of the brightness and volume sliders, and customise the media player display.
A separate ‘Warranty and Care’ menu has appeared in Settings to check warranty information and run diagnostic tools, and the DeX feature has been improved for multi-window use. If all goes to plan, all models that officially support the new OS should receive the update by the end of 2026. Phones that exhausted their OS update quota in 2026 will definitely not receive One UI 9. These include the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and other popular models.
