The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP) has approved the procedure for conducting control checks of the correctness of setting tariffs for centralised water supply and wastewater disposal. This is reported.

Grounds and types of checks
The procedure was developed in implementation of the laws of Ukraine dated 10 February 2026 No. 4777-IX and 15 September 2026 No. 4978-IX. The document provides for planned and unscheduled control checks to be carried out without site visits.
During such checks there will be an analysis of documents, calculations and other materials on the basis of which decisions on setting tariffs were made. The authorised state bodies or local self-government bodies are the institutions that make tariff decisions at the local level.
Inspection findings and the regulator’s recommendations
Following the control checks, corresponding conclusions will be drawn which, if violations are found, will contain recommendations for their elimination. The recommendations will also be taken into account when making decisions on setting or revising tariffs.
The document does not contain a list of specific amounts, deadlines for submitting documents or a detailed list of evidence for the checks; such indicators have not yet been published. The checks relate to the field of centralised water supply and wastewater disposal — consumers, tariff-setting bodies and water supply companies may be involved in checks in accordance with the procedure.
