As reports Ukrzaliznytsia has launched new international trains. One of them is the flagship train 23\/24 Kyiv — Kholm, which will bear the name of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi.
Flagship train name and rationale
The flagship train 23\/24 Kyiv — Kholm will be named after the Ukrainian historian and head of the Ukrainian Central Rada Mykhailo Hrushevskyi. Ukrzaliznytsia quoted: «We pay tribute to the inspirer of the Ukrainian national movement by linking two cities significant to him, since he was born in Polish Kholm and worked in Kyiv for nearly 20 years. It was under his chairmanship that the Central Rada adopted the Fourth Universal, which officially proclaimed the Ukrainian People’s Republic an independent, free and sovereign state», — Ukrzaliznytsia.

Train composition and technical features
The train consists of modern, higher-comfort carriages built in Ukraine during the full-scale war. Subsequent trains do not have a prominent name, but they will run on important routes.
The new carriages have powerful batteries to provide maximum autonomy if needed. In the event of a power outage the batteries will keep toilets, lighting and air conditioning working; even if the carriage continues under a diesel locomotive, all comforts will be preserved for as long as possible.

Route and service accompaniment
The 23/24 Kyiv — Kholm service departs to the composition MUR “Our time has come”, which emphasises the importance of the struggle for a united and free Ukraine. This underlines the symbolism of the train’s name.
The release also included passenger service information: “Travel insurance for trips abroad in 5 minutes and the policy will be in your email. Get it here.”
