According to Codex Energy, the company is implementing an energy park project in Chernivtsi, with commissioning scheduled for May 2027.
Capacity, budget and commissioning schedule
The project combines a solar power plant (SPP) with an installed capacity of 6.8 MW and an energy storage system with a capacity of 15 MWh. The estimated implementation budget is €7.3 million.
The facility is scheduled to start in May 2027, and the first payments to investors are expected in the third quarter (Q3) of 2027. The project is designed as a commercial asset with commissioning and payment timings set out in the implementation plan.

The role of storage and market logic
The storage systems in the project are intended not only for backup supply but also for storing electricity during periods of lower demand or favourable price conditions. The storages allow the use of saved energy during times of increased demand, which helps to balance the power system.
This model is also seen as a source of additional revenue: storage increases market flexibility and enables the sale of energy under more favourable conditions. The project’s performance will depend on operational management and adaptation to market mechanisms.

Development and involvement of private capital
Codex Energy positions itself as a developer working “from development to commissioning”, forming a full business model for the project. The company focuses on the entire delivery cycle, including technical parameters and the operating model of the facility.
The text describes a shift in the role of private capital: investors increasingly view energy as a field for creating infrastructure assets, where value is determined not only by equipment or land but by a prepared asset with a predictable economic profile.
