Jaguar Type 01 — flagship electric car with 1015 hp

Powertrain: 3 electric motors and 1015 hp (metric horsepower)

The Type 01 is fitted with three electric motors, one on the front axle and two on the rear. This configuration delivers a combined output of 1015 hp (metric horsepower) and 1,365 Nm of torque.

The difference is noticeable on the road. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 241 km/h, making it the most powerful road-going Jaguar in the marque’s history.

Battery 118 kWh and range 724 km WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) / 644 km EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)

The vehicle architecture runs on an 850-volt system powered by a 118 kWh battery. That provides the basis for long range and rapid charging.

Under the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) cycle the range is up to 724 km. Under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standard the stated range is up to 644 km, giving an idea of expected figures under different test regimes.

EPA up to 644 km

Charging speed 350 kW and adding 322 km of range in 13 minutes

Peak charging power for the Type 01 reaches 350 kW. This significantly reduces stop times when using high-power rapid chargers.

Jaguar states that 13 minutes of charging can add roughly 322 km of range. That rate makes the car suitable for long-distance travel with short charging stops.

Handling: 6.5 degrees rear-wheel steering and 11.5 m turning circle

The Type 01 features an all-wheel steering system where the rear wheels can turn by 6.5 degrees. This improves manoeuvrability at low speeds and stability during direction changes.

As a result, the turning circle is about 11.5 m. Jaguar compares this figure with the BMW 3 Series, emphasising the aim to combine grand tourer proportions with city-friendly handling.

Dynamic mode and 87% of power to the rear axle

In Dynamic mode the electronics redistribute torque so that up to 87% of the power is sent to the rear axle. This shifts the car’s balance and gives a sportier character on the road.

When switching to this mode the suspension firms up and the steering and throttle responses become quicker. That gives the driver sharper control without sacrificing the comfortable baseline setup.

Dimensions: 5.24 m long, 1.4 m high and a drag coefficient of 0.23

Jaguar has retained the grand tourer proportions: the car is 5.24 m long and 1.4 m high. Those dimensions underline a sporty silhouette and generous interior space.

The aerodynamic drag coefficient is 0.23. The combination of large dimensions and a low Cd helps achieve the claimed range and high efficiency on the road.

Specification Value
Length 5.24 m
Height 1.4 m
Drag coefficient 0.23
Wheels 23 inches
Headlights 20,000 LEDs in each

Interior: 24-inch display and a centre console that acts as the cabin’s spine

Mounted behind the wheel is a 24-inch OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display, while a vertical 7-inch touchscreen sits in the centre. Instead of a conventional mirror, the car uses the ClearSight Rear View display.

The central console runs from the front to the rear of the cabin and Jaguar calls it the “spine”. All four seats are heated and ventilated; the front seats adjust in 12 directions and the rear seats fold in a 50:50 split.

Price £130 000 and order timetable

The starting price for the Jaguar Type 01 in the United Kingdom will be £130 000. This is the base UK price and does not clarify import or duty conditions for other countries.

Orders will open in early 2027. The first cars will be delivered to customers in the second half of 2027, allowing time to ramp up production and logistics in the UK.
