What the Galaxy Buds On are and how they differ from the regular Galaxy Buds
The Galaxy Buds On are Samsung’s first open-ear model with a clip-on fastening. Unlike the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, these earbuds do not enter the ear canal and sit externally on the ear, changing how they are worn and the perceived comfort.
This design is aimed at extended use, where no pressure builds up inside the ear and there is less fatigue. The format has already appeared in offerings from other manufacturers such as Sony, Nothing and Huawei, and Samsung adds its own interpretation of the approach.

What technical solutions the Galaxy Buds On use for audio and calls
Sound in the Galaxy Buds On is handled by a pair of TwinBoost drivers and an Audio Leakage Reduction technology that is intended to reduce sound escaping to the outside. There’s no adrenaline-pumping volume boost here, but the manufacturer promises a balanced performance for the open format, where acoustics behave differently than in in‑ear models.
Audio signal processing is handled by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform, and the amplifier is implemented with a Class D design. For calls there are three built-in microphones, a bone-conduction vibration sensor and Intelligent Clear Call technology, which is designed to improve speech clarity even in strong wind or noisy environments.

When the earbuds will go on sale and what their price is
Sales of the Galaxy Buds On in South Korea will begin on 27 October, and the model is expected to appear in the US and Europe shortly afterwards. On its home market Samsung set the price at 300,000 won, which is roughly equivalent to $220.
Price-wise the new model sits between the Galaxy Buds 4 and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The claimed battery life is up to 9.5 hours, which gives an idea of the expected endurance during travel or a working day.
