According to Time Out, in its annual survey 24,000 respondents rated public transport in their cities, and Taipei took first place.
Taipei — 95% satisfied and an extensive MRT network
In Taipei 95% of local residents rated the transport network as “good” or “excellent”. The city is notable for its MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), which carried more than 767 million passengers in 2025 — on average about 2.1 million people per day.

The city uses the EasyCard, which can be used to pay for metro and bus journeys as well as YouBike rentals, adding convenience for getting around.
Singapore — punctuality and new stations
Singapore in second place received 93.5% positive ratings; across the system’s 146 stations about 3.5 million journeys are handled daily. According to the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, in 2025 approximately 99.4% of trains ran on time.

In July 2026 the city opened three new stations — Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road — which completed the Circle Line.
Hong Kong, Edinburgh, Seoul and other cities in the top 20
Hong Kong is in third place: according to the annual report of MTR, in 2025 99.9% of journeys on the main rail network were completed on time, and the system handled almost 2 billion trips in total. The variety of available transport in the city allows fares to be paid with the Octopus card on the metro, on trams and on the Star Ferry.
Edinburgh is in fourth place; bus operator Lothian Buses served 119 million passenger journeys in 2025, and the city’s trams carried 12.5 million passengers. In fifth place is Seoul, followed in the top ten by Zurich, Vienna, Tallinn, Helsinki and Medellín. The second ten included: Shanghai, Warsaw, Osaka, Stockholm, Jakarta, Riyadh, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Vancouver and Oslo.
The ratings and city metrics are useful for Ukrainian tourists, companies and transport sector professionals regarding service standards, potential export opportunities and the labour market.
