Starfin does not issue loans to a relative’s card — only to the applicant’s card

Starfin has stated that you cannot receive a loan on a relative’s card: the card must be registered in the applicant’s name.

The card must be in the borrower’s name

The lender is obliged to verify the applicant’s identity, check the card to which funds will be credited and separately assess the possibility of granting the loan. Approval from a mother, brother or husband does not replace this requirement.

Sharing a surname or having access to a card does not make it the applicant’s. The requirement that the card be in the borrower’s name explicitly rules out using another person’s card when taking out a loan.

Card verification and the procedure for crediting funds

Successful completion of BankID (bank identification service) does not mean that any added card will be suitable for crediting. A verified personal card also does not guarantee loan approval — the bank separately assesses creditworthiness.

After approval the client reviews the documents and signs the contract, and only then are the funds transferred to the personal card. If the personal card fails verification, you should check the details and expiry date, confirm the card’s status with the bank and contact the lender’s support to determine the reasons.

Do not provide a relative’s details or change personal information to force a match; in case of a lost card, issues of blocking and replacement are resolved with the bank.
