The grants are intended to broaden the students’ options when choosing a professional path and to allow them to devote more time to their studies instead of part-time work.

“Education is one of the most important investments in Ukraine’s future. Today it is especially important to support young people from the families of our male and female defenders, to create opportunities for them to receive quality education, develop their talents and realise their ambitions. For us this is a matter of responsibility and gratitude to those who defend the country. We want young Ukrainians to see their future here, to have confidence in their own abilities and to become part of the generation that will develop and rebuild Ukraine,” — said Nataliya Hurina, head of the management board of Raiffeisen Bank.

Duration and forms of cooperation with KSE

Cooperation with KSE has been ongoing since 2016 and covers support for education and the humanitarian initiatives of KSE Foundation. In 2022 the bank was among the first to join the “Zakhystok: Safe Education” programme from KSE Foundation.

The partnership includes systematic support for KSE University students’ education and investments in the faculty to ensure teaching at an international level.

“Raiffeisen Bank is our long-standing partner, and it is particularly valuable that this collaboration is consistent and invests in education at every stage. In 2022 the bank was among the first to join the ‘Zakhystok: Safe Education’ programme from KSE Foundation to restore children’s right to schooling. It systematically supports the education of students at KSE University and has invested in the work of the faculty so that young people receive knowledge of an international standard. Today, another important area of our partnership is support for the education of students from the families of defenders. Raiffeisen removes barriers for talented young people to access advanced education, develop and build their future in Ukraine,” — said Svitlana Denysenko, executive director of KSE Foundation.

Experience of a student who received a grant

Second-year student of the Artificial Intelligence programme, Maria Horodyska, said the grant has allowed her to spend more time on her studies and on interesting projects instead of part-time work.

She also shared plans to create a language model for judging breakdancing competitions and to apply her knowledge to engineering and defence initiatives.

“Thanks to the grant I don’t have to think about taking on part-time work just to cover basic needs — I can spend more time on my studies and on what truly interests me. One of my dreams is to create a language model for judging breakdancing competitions. In the future I also want to apply my knowledge in engineering and defence initiatives — it is important to me to be of service to the state,” — says Maria Horodyska, a second-year student of the Artificial Intelligence programme at KSE University.
