Child benefits can be applied for online via Diia

The Cabinet of Ministers has announced that applications for assistance related to pregnancy and childbirth and payments for child care up to one year can now be submitted online through the «Diia» app.

How to apply via «Diia»

After submitting an application in «Diia», it is forwarded to the Unified Information System of the Social Sphere, which automatically collects the necessary data from state registers and generates a decision. After that, an employee of the Pension Fund reviews and approves the generated decision.

Payments can also be arranged offline — at the Pension Fund’s service centres, through centres for the provision of administrative services (CNAPs) or via authorised representatives of territorial communities. When assigning the payment, the period specified in the relevant medical certificate under the category “Pregnancy and childbirth” is taken into account.

Who is entitled to payments and what amounts

The assistance related to pregnancy and childbirth amounts to 7 000 UAH per month and is assigned to pregnant women who are not insured under the compulsory state social insurance system. The payment is made for the period indicated in the relevant medical certificate.

The payment for child care until the child reaches one year is also paid monthly in the amount of 7 000 UAH. For families raising a child with a disability, the amount of this payment is 10 500 UAH.

Where funds are credited and special conditions

Funds will be credited to the Diia.Card, but with different conditions of use. Assistance for pregnancy and childbirth is credited without restrictions according to merchant category codes (MCC).

The payment for the first year of a child’s life is targeted and is credited to a special account called “Care for the child”. It is separately noted that pilot beta‑testing of assistance for working parents — «yeYasla» — will begin soon.
