Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider — the open-top version of its flagship supercar, which retains the hybrid powertrain producing 1064 hp and accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 s.
Design and roof
The Valhalla Spider is built on the coupe’s carbon monocoque, which allowed the fixed roof to be removed without compromising structural rigidity. A soft fabric top is fitted as standard, which limits the top speed to 200 km/h.

Customers can opt for a removable carbon-fibre panel: with it the car can reach the same electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h as the coupe.
Aerodynamics and interior
The active aerodynamic systems and ESP are adapted to the roof’s condition: their settings change depending on whether the roof is fitted or not. With the roof fitted the car generates more than 600 kg of downforce.

In standard specification the Spider comes with carbon “Touring” seats, but buyers can choose the sport track seats used in the coupe at no extra cost. The doors remain of the “butterfly” type, now in a frameless design.
Hybrid powertrain and production
The technical specifications are carried over entirely from the coupe: the hybrid system consists of a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors, with a combined output of 1064 hp.
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the price or the exact production volume for the Spider, but it is expected to be even more exclusive than the coupe, the run of which is limited to 999 units. First customer deliveries are scheduled for the third quarter of next year.
