According to Honda (reported), the company has unveiled a new hybrid system, Honda Hybrid, which will replace the e: HEV technologies. The first cars equipped with it are expected to appear on global markets in 2027, and the company plans to release 15 new hybrid models by the end of the fiscal year ending 31 March 2030.
Rollout of the model range through 2030
New vehicles featuring Honda Hybrid are planned for introduction to global markets, primarily in North America. The company announced a phased launch of models beginning in 2027 and intends to complete the rollout by the end of the fiscal year ending 31 March 2030.

In international communications, the next generation of hybrid technologies will be referred to as Honda Hybrid. Specific models that will receive the system have not yet been announced.
Technical enhancements to the Honda Hybrid system
The new system is developed on the basis of e: HEV technologies and incorporates improvements to key components, including the engine, drive unit and electronic control systems. To boost efficiency, the range of operating modes in which the engine consumes less fuel has been expanded.

Engineers have also made the drive unit more efficient and more compact to improve fuel economy and handling dynamics. As part of ongoing development, the company plans further refinement of electronic control for future hybrid models.
New platform and all-wheel drive system
Models with Honda Hybrid will be built on a new platform that combines optimised body rigidity with reduced mass. The approach to managing body stiffness is intended to provide controlled behaviour in corners and improve tyre grip on the road.
The company also introduced a Motion Management System for integrated motion control and a new electric all-wheel-drive system, e-AWD, for next-generation models. Honda did not specify which particular models will receive e-AWD.
