Nissan has unveiled the 2027 model‑year Pathfinder Special Edition, created to mark the model’s 40th anniversary. Sales in the USA are due to begin in November 2026.
Interior and exterior styling
The special edition features a predominantly black interior with burgundy inserts on the seats and trim panels, a nod to the look of the first Pathfinder from 1987. The cabin is configured for seven passengers and includes second‑row captain’s chairs.

On the outside the model is distinguished by black 20‑inch alloy wheels, red accents on the grille and special badges on the rear pillars. A large PATHFINDER script in 1980s styling is mounted on the tailgate.
Engine and towing capability
The special edition retains the 3.5‑litre petrol V6 engine producing 284 hp and 259 lb‑ft (351 N·m) of torque, paired with a nine‑speed automatic transmission. This is the same powertrain used in other trims of the model.

It is rated to tow a trailer weighing up to 2722 kg, matching the capability of the pricier Rock Creek and Platinum variants and exceeding the base towing capacity of about 1588 kg. A factory tow hitch and other cargo‑carrying conveniences are included as standard on the special edition.
Trim levels, equipment and production
The version sits between the SL and Platinum trims in the Pathfinder line‑up. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, rear‑door sunshades, a Bose audio system with 12 speakers and second‑row captain’s chairs.
In the USA prices start from $47 390 for the front‑wheel‑drive version and from $49 390 with the Intelligent All‑Wheel Drive system; adding the delivery charge of $1575 brings prices to $48 965 and $50 965 respectively. All Pathfinder versions are produced at the plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, USA.
