Lexus has revealed the updated NX crossover for the 2027 model year and has abandoned the petrol version entirely: the model will now be available only as the hybrid NX 350h and the plug-in hybrid NX 450h+.
Exterior and interior trim
The NX has received new lighting with a dual-line headlamp design in which the indicators and daytime running lights are integrated into a single element. At the rear, lights now feature a double L-shaped light signature for the first time, with an illuminated logo between them.

The paint palette comprises nine colours, including new shades Shaded Ivy and Incognito; the Iridium shade replaces Atomic Silver. Most chrome trim has been removed and replaced with black mirror housings and window surrounds.
Interior and infotainment
The cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new 14-inch touchscreen for the Lexus Interface infotainment system. Five trim colour options are offered, including Abalos and Radiant Red for the F Sport.

The software supports a customisable home screen, simultaneous connection of two phones via Bluetooth, a built-in dashcam and over-the-air software updates.
Powertrains, trim levels and production
The line-up has been reduced to four trim levels: Premium, Premium+, F Sport and Luxury. Premium and Premium+ are available with the NX 350h and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive; F Sport and Luxury come with all-wheel drive. The NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid will be offered only with all-wheel drive.
Both powertrains have been fitted with a new electric drive module (e-Axle), and the inverters now use silicon carbide-based semiconductors. The combined output of the NX 350h has increased to 244 hp, the front electric motor produces 160 hp, and the rear-axle electric motor in all-wheel-drive variants adds 54 hp. In the NX 450h+ the power of the front electric motor has risen to 203 hp, while total output is now 324 hp (the previous version produced 304 hp).
The updated hybrid control software enables more aggressive use of electric drive during acceleration, while dynamic characteristics remain close to those of the previous model. To improve handling, the body floor and suspension mounting points have been stiffened.
Production of the NX 350h will take place at Lexus plants in Ontario, Canada, and at the Kyushu, Japan facility; the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid will be manufactured exclusively in Kyushu. Prices for all trim levels will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
