ThinkGlobal published a ranking of Ukrainian schools by average score in the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT‑2026)

Online school ThinkGlobal published a ranking of Ukrainian schools by average score in the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT‑2026) and a separate list of institutions that operate exclusively online.

Top spot and the overall list of schools

Among 8 217 schools, first place went to Lviv Gymnasium «Yevshan» with an average score of 174,98. The ranking was compiled without additional coefficients — based solely on the average NMT‑2026 score.

Half of the top ten are Kyiv educational institutions, three places went to Lviv schools, and two more to Ivano‑Frankivsk ones. The full top‑1000 is available on the ThinkGlobal website: in the «NMT ranking» section there is a link under the table to «All schools of Ukraine by NMT‑2026».

Criteria for the separate ranking of online schools

The separate ranking included only private schools that operate exclusively online and whose students took the NMT in different regions. To avoid including in‑person lyceums with online classes, each school was manually verified using information on its website.

The table shows a comparison of the average NMT‑2025 and NMT‑2026 scores among the top‑10 online schools; rankings for 2023−2026 and the methodology can be viewed via the link.

Calculation methods and cautions from the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA)

Popular portals calculate a ranking score using the formula: 85% of it is the average NMT score, and 15% depends on how many tests were taken at the school compared with the school with the most in the country. In platforms’ tables they indicate both the ranking score and the average NMT score separately, but positions are determined by the ranking score.

The UCEQA does not compile its own rankings. The centre’s director, Tetiana Vakulenko, noted: “Only those who plan to apply to Ukrainian higher education institutions (HEIs) take the NMT, so these data cannot be used to draw conclusions about all graduates or to build rankings of the quality of education of particular institutions.” She added: “Results can be influenced by tutors, self-study and students transferring to other schools, and in small schools one high or low score noticeably changes the picture.”
