Anthropic launches tools to assess ROI of investments in artificial intelligence (AI)

Anthropic has announced a new set of tools for Claude Enterprise customers to make it easier for companies to see the effectiveness and return on investment of artificial intelligence (AI).

The release also gives financial results: in the second quarter the company reached operating profit, the net revenue retention rate hit 900%, and customer spend in the third quarter of 2026 increased ninefold compared with the same period in 2025; the key driver was the AI coding tool Claude Code.

Smart reports analyse transcripts and identify failure points

As the blog reports, administrators can select a team, time range and products, after which Claude analyses a sample of transcripts and groups tasks into workstreams, showing the cost of each, the results produced and failure points, such as a missing connector or tool invocation errors.

Executive dashboard for AI expenses

The reports generate a list of actions with recommendations on which recurring processes should be turned into skills or added to the code repository. Administrators can also set custom questions about model usage and save them as templates, and account owners can delegate report runs to team leads who are not administrators.

In-app surveys provide qualitative feedback after a Claude response

Short survey cards appear directly in the interface after Claude’s responses, supplementing quantitative data with qualitative feedback from employees. Standard questions are aimed at measuring value: what was the most useful thing accomplished with AI, how time spent on tasks has changed, and what would break or slow down if access to Claude were lost tomorrow.

Employees respond to surveys in the interface

The question set can be customised to a company’s needs, and collected results can be exported to spreadsheets for further analysis. Anthropic notes that, by default, this data is not used to train new models.

Pooled group budgets set a single monthly token limit

The new system lets teams set a single monthly token limit for the whole team instead of rigid individual caps, to avoid situations where active users exhaust their quota at the start of the month while others’ budgets remain unused.

The system automatically suggests an amount based on recent activity and sends alerts to administrators when 50%, 75%, 95% and 100% of the budget are reached. All three tools are already available to Claude Enterprise users, but availability may vary depending on security configuration, for example for organisations with HIPAA requirements or customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK).
