Sense Bank continued the series of practical sessions “Sense for individual entrepreneurs (FOP)” in Lviv — the second event was devoted to the terms for obtaining state grants to start and develop a business.
Terms of the grant programme and applicant requirements
Participants were briefed on the terms of the grant programme, the main requirements for applicants and the specifics of preparing business plans. They were also informed about the obligations that must be fulfilled after receiving funding.

Special attention was paid to common mistakes when submitting applications and the most frequent reasons for grant refusals. The practical review aimed to help applicants assess the realism of their business ideas and better understand the selection criteria.
Quotes on the importance of the format and support
“These meetings are extremely important because they give potential applicants not only the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the conditions for obtaining grant support, but also to understand the responsibilities and obligations that arise after receiving the funds. The value of this format lies in direct dialogue. Participants have the chance to get answers to specific questions, analyse practical situations and better understand the requirements of the grant programme. After all, our task is not only to inform about the opportunities for state support, but also to help future entrepreneurs prepare quality, well‑justified and realistic business projects,” said the head of the project implementation department of the Lviv Regional Employment Centre, Iryna Romanyak.

“Sense Bank provides support to grant recipients at the programme implementation stage — we explain which aspects are taken into account when assessing an applicant’s business reputation, which criteria affect the scoring of an application, and we also outline the procedure for opening a grant account and the requirements for the targeted use of funds. It is important that entrepreneurs understand, even before submitting an application, not only the bank’s requirements but also the next steps after a grant is approved. This helps to avoid common mistakes, to prepare in advance for project implementation and to use the received funding effectively,” said the Head of Development of credit operations for small and medium-sized businesses (SME), Iryna Rudenko.
Format of the meeting and participation of entrepreneurs
The meeting took the form of an open dialogue: participants actively joined the discussion and asked questions about the terms of participation in the programme and the practical aspects of receiving and using grant funds.
