According to Honda, the company is preparing a major update to the Accord sedan, which will be released as a 2028 model and is due to debut in the second half of 2027.
Design and interior
The new generation, based on available renders, will adopt styling inspired by Honda’s 0 Series concepts: narrower headlights, a completely redesigned front end and a full-width rear light bar. The cabin is expected to feature a large infotainment screen, while physical climate and audio controls are likely to remain.
The published images are currently renders rather than official photos of the production car. Final design details may change at the official announcement.
Body styles and powertrains
A raised hatchback variant is under consideration, resembling a crossover and serving as an alternative to the traditional sedan. There is also mention of possible new four-cylinder engines for some versions.
The company plans an upgraded hybrid system with two electric motors, to be introduced from 2027. The current Accord is offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 192 hp (horsepower) or a hybrid unit with 204 hp.
Release schedule and estimated price
If the timeline is confirmed, the updated sedan will debut in the second half of 2027 as a 2028 model, and production of the raised hatchback could begin in mid-2029. The company has not yet officially confirmed the vehicle’s specifications or the introduction of the new body style.
The estimated starting price of the updated Accord could be around 30,000 dollars (approximately 1.3 million UAH). For comparison, the current Honda Accord LX 2026 model year in the US costs from 29,690 dollars including delivery, while the hybrid Sport version starts from 35,090 dollars.
