President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address that overnight on Saturday Russian forces attacked the Northern Bridge in Kyiv with ballistic missiles; four hits were recorded out of six launched, and the government ordered that contingency transport schemes be prepared.
Strike on the bridge: number of missiles and impact on traffic
Six ballistic missiles were directed at the Northern Bridge, four of which struck. After the strikes the president discussed the situation with Prime Minister Koretskyi and Interior Minister Vyhivskyi on organising alternative routes.
The government instructed that contingency transport schemes be prepared for the capital, because current transport reserves are insufficient. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is currently handling this.

Impact on the energy sector and repair crews’ work
Zelensky noted that the effectiveness of air defences is limited due to a shortage of missiles for Patriot systems, which is causing significant damage to energy and logistical infrastructure. Strikes on distribution substations and networks in Kyiv and other northern, eastern and central regions are creating substantial electricity shortages.
To restore power supply, the number of repair crews is being increased and necessary equipment is being supplied for work on substations and networks, the statement said.
