Start of agreements in Constanța
Ukraine and Romania agreed to maintain the daily transfer of six pairs of trains bound for the port of Constanța. The Ministry for Restoration reported on the outcome of the Ukrainian–Romanian talks in Constanța.
The decision affects Ukrainian exporters, rail companies and port operators and takes effect based on the talks’ conclusions. In the first phase, keeping the current regime is intended to ensure continuity of export shipments while technical works are coordinated.

Romanian repairs to increase capacity
The Romanian side has committed to speed up repair works on port and rail infrastructure on its territory. The aim is to increase rail traffic to the port of Constanța from the current six to 10 pairs of trains per day.
Reaching the target will require simultaneous work on tracks and in ports to avoid delays in train arrivals and unloading. While repairs are underway, maintaining the daily transfer of six pairs will serve as a logistical anchor for Ukraine.

Route expansion and shipping dispatch coordination
A separate strand of cooperation is the opening of talks on involving additional Romanian ports, Galați and Brăila, for transshipment of Ukrainian products. Such expansion could relieve Constanța and provide alternative routes for exporters.
The parties also focused on ensuring stable operation of the Sulina Canal. Ukraine expects a steady passage of at least 10 vessels inbound and 10 vessels outbound per day. Romania will invite a representative of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine to joint shipping dispatching by the end of the current week, and a mechanism has been agreed to allocate a separate day for exclusive use of the canal when a critical number of vessels from Ukrainian ports accumulates at the exit.
