The site promo.bank.gov.ua warns that scammers are circulating messages and advertisements on social networks and messaging apps offering to supposedly obtain government or social payments.
How fake messages look and where they lead
Attackers use the names and branding of well-known government institutions, services and organisations to build trust. Links in such messages often lead to a fake website where you are asked to log in or confirm your entitlement to a payment.

Fake pages may ask you to enter details for receiving funds or completing registration. After obtaining the information, scammers may also call and identify themselves as bank or government employees, using the pretext of “confirming the payment” to try to obtain additional details.
What information they request and the security advice given
Scammers may ask you to enter bank account details, PIN code, CVV/CVC, internet banking passwords and one-time transaction confirmation codes. Such requests are often presented as a necessary condition for receiving payments or assistance.

The site also lists recommendations for verification and actions to take if your data has been exposed.
- Verify information about government and social payments with official sources.
- Do not follow links from advertisements, social media messages or messaging apps.
- Do not disclose your PIN code, CVV/CVC, internet banking passwords or one-time codes.
- If you have revealed payment details to scammers, contact your bank and block your card.
