Banks reduce monthly transfer limits from 14 November

Banks are reducing monthly limits on transfers that go through without additional checks. This is the second stage of changes under the updated Memorandum on transparency of the payment services market, which banks signed on 14 May 2026.

The changes take effect on 14 November. Details are also in the new video.

This does not affect all entrepreneurs, only certain categories: newly established individual entrepreneurs (FOP), “dormant” entrepreneurs who are resuming activity, and new and inactive legal entities. How long an FOP is considered “new” is determined by each bank under its internal rules.

Usually this period ranges from 6 to 12 months. The limit does not prohibit paying more — the bank tallies the total of all your payments on a cumulative monthly basis and does not carry out over-limit transfers automatically.

Over-limit payments are executed only on the client’s payment instruction and after the client has provided documentary proof of the funds’ origin. The bank may require the relevant documents to confirm the source of the money.

For individuals nothing changes: without income confirmation the limits are 50,000 hryvnia per month in the case of high risk and 100,000 hryvnia per month in the case of low and medium risk.
