Ukrainians have 153 million cards and only a third of them are active
Ukrainian banks issued about 153,2 million cards but only about 61,1 million were active. The difference is explained by state programmes and by people having several cards.
The discount rate 16% will not change loans for SMEs

NBU licence revocations — 'Fincentr' and 'Motus Ante' stripped of licences
The NBU revoked licences of LLC "FC "Fincentr" and LLC "FC "Motus Ante" due to lack of activity and failure to comply with orders. The decision was made on 5 October 2026 and comes into force after notification.

NBU payments to banks must be executed without grounds for refusal
The NBU reminded that payment instructions must be executed if there are no lawful grounds for refusal. Special attention is paid to payments for posting collateral and explanations of refusals.

The EU transferred €1,2 billion to Ukraine for defence. International reserves decreased to $47 101,8 million as of 01 October 2026, in September they fell by 3,2%. The World Bank downgraded its GDP forecast.
