How people and businesses see it
The news of another shipment of aid from Finland is received plainly and close to home in shops, on currency markets and among business owners. For the owner of a small business or a depositor, it is a signal that international support for Ukraine has not stopped and that partners continue to meet the army’s urgent needs.
For currency buyers and those following the exchange rate, this is not a direct financial shock but an additional source of confidence. For citizens interested in the spending side of the aid, it is important that the decision was made on 9 October and that the financial valuation of the package is already known.

What exactly is being sent and how it is arranged
Finland is urgently sending Ukraine its 35th package of military assistance. The total value of the package currently being delivered is about 1 million euros. The Ministry of Defence of Finland says that defence materiel is being transferred from the stocks of the country’s Armed Forces.
The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, on the proposal of the government approved the transfer of this package on 9 October. For operational reasons, more detailed information about the contents of the assistance is classified. You can also read about the process and contents on the site of the Ministry of Defence of Finland.

What this means for state resources and logistics
The decision to transfer took into account Ukraine’s needs and the available resources of the Finnish Defence Forces. The official statement emphasises that the assistance was arranged with regard to the country’s own defence capabilities and the logistics required to deliver it to its destination.
Finland has already begun preparations for the next, larger package. The total value of defence materiel Finland has supplied to Ukraine has now reached 3.6 billion euros. Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen said bluntly: “Finland expedited this decision to meet Ukraine’s urgent request. We will not turn a blind eye to the Ukrainians’ hour of hardship. Instead, we will stand by Ukraine and continue to provide material assistance.”
