According to the interim financial statements of «Silpo-Food», the chain recognised over 1.5 billion UAH in losses due to damage and destruction of stores and distribution centres for January–September 2026; the company is still assessing the final losses.
Scale of losses and asset write-offs
For the nine months of 2026, «Silpo-Food» wrote off current assets totalling 1.4 billion UAH as a result of the war. For comparison, write-offs for the same period last year amounted to 1 million UAH.

In addition, the company wrote off 53.4 million UAH of non-current assets for the period. The report was published in the information system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission.
Company actions after the damage
After the damage and destruction of property, «Silpo-Food» filed crime reports with law enforcement agencies. The company documented the condition of damaged sites with photos and videos and drew up inspection reports.

An inventory and work to restore stores are also underway, while the final amount of losses is being determined. The final sum may be higher than the losses recognised so far.
Payment for downtime and land tax relief
If shelling temporarily prevents an enterprise from operating, the employer may declare downtime during which employment relations with employees are preserved. If the employee is not at fault for the suspension of work, they must be paid at least two-thirds of their official salary or tariff rate; in cases of danger to life or health, average earnings are preserved (Article 34 of the Labour Code of Ukraine (LCU)).
Owners of land plots with property destroyed due to the aggression are exempt from land tax in 2026. To receive the relief, data from the State Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property are taken into account; the exemption applies until the end of the month in which ownership of newly built property on the plot is registered or martial law in Ukraine is terminated or revoked.
